    Wisdom

Celebrities have lived lives tremendously different from the everyday lives, which we live. However, that does not prevent us from seeking out advice and hear the thoughts from the people we admire. Perhaps they have input on how we can lose those five kilos? Or maybe they have good ideas on how to make a baby sleep at night?

What we tend to forget is that their lives are so tremendously different from ours, that their words of wisdom are often not applicable to us. They lose five kilos because of cosmetic treatment, unnatural diets and binge exercising before movies or shows. They make children fall asleep, by placing them in a room on the other side of the villa and letting the nanny take care of it.

Many of us have normal jobs, where we work certain hours every weekday. Some of us work on weekends, periodically, evenings or even at night. Not everyone is happy with their jobs and would love to have something else to do than flipping burgers in the local diner. We do this so that we can earn money. Money we need to pay for our rent, clothes and food.

Celebrities do not have this problem. Sure, they have their jobs (movies, tv-shows, music, modeling), but they tend to be slightly better paid than you and me. The result is that we desire what they have and their expensive lifestyle. We want to be able to wipe our behinds with bills and get lost in our dusty old villas. We want to drive fancy cars, even if they would not fit or survive the terrible roads in our local neighborhood.

We admire the sheer magnitude of fame, which celebrities possess. Wherever they go, they are followed by cameras, fans and journalists. Whatever they say and do is thoroughly documented online or published in the many magazines around the world.

It is in human nature to wish to be seen and valued for one’s character. The celebrities have achieved a state of constant admiration and an eternity within the spotlight. We get to know about their visit to the bathroom, who they are cheating with and what kind of drugs they use.

    Sex

    Sex

Sex is important. We would not survive as a species if it were not for sex. It is a very basic and natural part of our existence. However, modern times have twisted and bastardized the notion of sex and of what is sexy. Skinny girls, where the ribs and spine can be seen, are considered attractive. Men are preferably so buffed up, that they will not be able to tie their own shoelaces. Celebrities often represent the zeitgeist of sex appeal. At the moment, based on Kim Kardashian’s shape and Nicki Minaj’s music video «Anaconda», I would say that curves and humps are back in town.

Reality is that not everyone can look like this, and not everyone should. Sexy is whatever you want it to be.

    Pity

    Pity

Some celebrities are just in so much bad luck. They might have taken the wrong turn in life and ended up somewhere in the gutter. However, we still follow them on Twitter and Instagram, while they post about their rehab, or how they are dealing with their relationship breakup. We write to them, as if they actually read and care what we think, trying to support our idols in any way that we can.

Perhaps it is even worse to experience failure as a celebrity. So many people look up to you and idolize you. Not only do you fail yourself but you seem to fail everyone who has you as their role model. Then again, should we really have these seemingly infallible people as role models?
