This place is famous for its sunset and sunrise view points and when I went there 3 days ago, I got to know why! There is a hill called Kundadri Hill which is 8 kms away from the town Agumbe. As I saw the sun slowly rise, the beauty and the grandeur of it took my breath away! A small tip I think you should take. While in Agumbe, stay at Dodda Mane. This is a old house with a courtyard in the middle and its sure to remind of your school vacations that you spent in your grandmother's house. The place is run by a very sweet lady. This house has another thing to boast about. The TV series Malgudi days was shot here.

    Kaup beach.

Not crowd filled. A beautiful light house to boot. Go here to have a good fun time at the beach :)

Malpe Beach + St Mary's Island

When I went there it was pretty crowded. Thankfully we had already played in Kaup beach so didn't get into the water here. From Malpe, a ferry ride is the only wya to the St Mary's Island. St Mary's island is famous for its unique rock formations. A very picturesque place:)

    Marawanthe beach.

Playing in the water is not allowed here because of the shallow water. Go there if you wanna take gorgeous pictures. My friend shot a couple of photos and they all look postcard material. :) A little ahead of this place is a hill top called as Ottinane. From here you can see a river on your left and the sea on your right, with just a small strip of land separating them. I think karnataka tourism has few cottages there that you can rent for a cheap rate. So if you want to make a night halt, this too would be an ideal place. there is way down towards the beach so a camp fire or even a morning walk along the beach would be a good idea, no? :)

    Murudeshwara beach.

This is Lord Shiva's temple. The beach was full of people when I went so no scenes of playing in the water there. Be careful to note the time you visit the temple because they close during the afternoon. Either go in the morning or after 4 PM. (Oh with this I've visited 5 out of 8 beaches displayed on the Karnataka Tourism Website. Wohoo! Suratkal, Karwar and Gokarna, I'll see you soon!)
