    Nerf Elite: Retaliator XD

    Nerf Elite: Retaliator XD

    • Range: Upto 90ft
    • Velocity: Upto 70fps
    • Blaster Type: Spring Action

Retaliator XD is the latest Elite blaster released at the time of creating this list. It's a re-do of the best selling Elite retaliator and most difference is in the paint job. The internals and the modus operandi have been retained as found in the original retaliator. The velocity and range have said to be upgraded to upto 90 feet as compared to the original 75ft. The performance has improved but only to a minimal extent.

The spring blaster provides more power and accuracy as compared to the motorized blaster present in the Rapidstrike, and requires no batteries to operate. The blaster comes with a 12 dart magazine and 12 elite darts, a very sturdy stock, and a foregrip too. The blaster can be used in four different blaster forms based on what attachments you add on. The priming handle is present on top of the blaster and jams certain times. But this only happens due to improper priming, a human error and can be cleared through the jam access door.

This blaster is by far the best and most affordable option if you're looking for a dart blasting gun that operates without batteries.

    Nerf Elite: RapidStrike CS-18

    Nerf Elite: RapidStrike CS-18

    • Range: upto 75ft
    • Velocity: upto 70fps
    • Blaster Type: Motorized Flywheel

RapidStrike has been one of most favorite nerf gun series of most young players. Its for ages 8 and above and will make a great gift for your kid. Elite Series is the next after rival interms of power and accuracy. But the difference is they use darts instead of foam balls. The darts are affected in ways different than the balls by air friction and don't stay accurate. But its meant for kids and it delivers fun. Immense fun.

Th RapidStrike has 18 round magazine, with a fully automatic mechanism using motorized flywheels. This allows the gun to unload all eighteen rounds in little more than 5 seconds. Which is pretty high rate of fire. The gun also comes with a number of tactical rails to add your N-strike attachments. Also a jam door is provided that allows you to remove any jams that might happen. Only thing of concern is that since its electrical you need to fill in 4 C-Sized batteries at the front of the gun, but this gives it a uniform weighted feel.

Over-all the best nerf gun which uses darts, and comes in at a very affordable price. Great value for money.

    Nerf Modulus : ECS 10

    Nerf Modulus : ECS 10

    • Range: upto 90ft
    • Velocity: upto 78fps
    • Blaster Type: Motorized Blaster

Modulus is a different series of nerf blasters with the primary focus on customization.  Right out of the box the ECS 10 blaster comes with a 10 dart banana clip, a stock, a barrel extension, 10 dart, a scope and a foregrip. The banana clip looks more real and cooler than the rectagular or round barrels as with other guns. The stock is a bit flimsy and shakes when you try to aim down the sights. But since its a mods oriented blaster, all the stock accesories are replaceable with other nerf modulus attachments that are sold separately. This is a great start up blaster for anyone interested in applying mods, repainting or cosplays. You could create realistic looking weapons by adding on different scopes, sights, barrel extensions and magazine extensions. Different upgrade kits like Stealth OPs kit, defend upgrade kit, long range upgrade kits are available as separate purchases that can significantly change the looks and game style with this blaster.

The modulus achieves performance similar to the Elite blaster series. It's flywheel blaster is operated by 4 AA batteries, semi automatic and is sometimes able to achieve higher muzzle speeds and more consistent ranges than the Rapidstrike.

Overall, If you're looking for a big cool looking gun with a number of add-ons and attachments with great performance as the Elite series then Modulus ECS-10 is a great start.

    Nerf Rival : Apollo XV-700

    Nerf Rival : Apollo XV-700

    • Range: 60-80 Ft
    • Velocity: Up-to 100 fps
    • Blaster Type: Spring Action

Apollo is one of the two versions released in the most recently initiated Nerf Rival series. Its advertised for kids age 14 and up, for teens and young adults. More power and accuracy is the chant here. Nerf intends to bring more a powerful series that conforms within the safety standards by introducing smaller ball like ammo rounds made of foam. Though not perfect, these new releases fare very well against the elite series in many ways.

Coming to the Apollo, its spring action blaster that requires you to prime the gun before pressing the trigger. It's cheaper than its elder brother version Zues which has a motorized blaster. The Apollo is generally better reviewed than it's elder brother as its cheaper, has more consistency in shooting each round, does not require batteries and has the kick-back or recoil feel that is generally absent in the motorized blasters.

It comes with a 7 round magazine thats inserted into the  blasters handle as in most actual rifles and the rounds are called high impact rounds by nerf. They have small golf-ball like dimples that keep them on track making this gun one of the most accurate and fast nerf model ever released.

    Nerf Elite: Rampage

    Nerf Elite: Rampage

    • Range: upto 75ft
    • Velocity: upto 70fps
    • Blaster Type: Spring Action

Rampage. Stays true to the name. It's fast, powerful and comes with a 25-round drum with 25 elite darts that you can slam-fire! Slam fire is the option where you can hold the trigger pressed down and just repeatedly prime the blaster to shoot the darts. This gives higher rate of fire compared to the retaliator and more fire power with a bigger feed.

Out of the box the Rampage comes with a 25-dart drum, darts and drum connector. No scope, or fore grip or stock is provided. But these can be purchased separately and attached to Rampage's N-strike tactical rails. Also it can be upgraded to bigger ammo drum barrels if required.

Performance is as good as any Elite blaster with good accuracy. Few drawbacks include longer reload times and jams that can happen if the drum is not reloaded properly. But still this blaster deservedly stands as the number one seller on Amazon's list of toy weapons and has great reviews from consumers.

    Nerf Zombie Strike : Slingfire

    Nerf Zombie Strike : Slingfire

    • Range: Upto 80ft
    • Velocity: Upto 72fps
    • Blaster Type: Spring Action

Nerf Zombie Strike series was released in the year 2013 and just like the Elite series, it also has a number of different blasters up its sleeve. But SlingFIre is probably the best selling of them all for many number of reasons.

The SlingFire is a spring action blaster that requires no batteries to operate. Out of the box it comes with a 6-dart magazine and 6 green darts. But since this blaster is clip-fed it can be upgraded to a 18-round mag or even a 35-round drum. The priming handle in this blaster is the most unique of all nerf world. It is a simple lever action mimicing a real-life gun and is very comfortable and easy to use. The color scheme is the usual Zombie scheme with bright greens and brown handles. The stock is integrated and not replaceable while the barrel is standard and does not accept N-strike attachments. But tactical rails are present on the top to add on scopes, while a jam access door allows the player to easily clear of the any stuck dart. Though jams happens mostly only due to humar error, improper priming. The performance of this blaster is well on par with any elite blaster with muzzle speeds of over 70 fps and ranges upto 80 ft. This stat is well above other Elite dart-blasters.

The coolest part of this blaster is that the lever action mechanism allows the player to load the gun single handedly and shoot it Arnold Schwarzenegger style !

    Nerf Elite: Demolisher 2-in-1

    Nerf Elite: Demolisher 2-in-1

    • Range: Upto 90ft
    • Velocity: upto 70fps
    • Blaster Type: Motorized Flywheel

The demolisher was released in the year 2014 and became an instant hit with the nerf community. From players to modders, to cosplayers everyone loved this blaster. It comes in a complete orange color scheme with dark grey on it's stock, handle and the missile prime handle. It's build design makes it look like a pretty serious gun at the same time being very functional.

Out of the box the demolisher comes with a 10-round banana style magazine, a detachable stock, 10 elite darts and two missiles. The primary blaster runs on a motorized flywheel that operates using 4 AA batteries. There is an integrated missile launcher integrated below the front barrel which is not detachable. This launcher operates using it's own launcher handle by forcing the missile out through air pressure. The stock provided is detachable and has a slot to hold one missile, while the other missile provided can be loaded on to the missile launcher. Tactical rails are present at the top of the primary barrel to allow N-strike scope attachments.

The performance in this blaster is on par with any Elite Blaster. With angled shots the Elite darts can reach a range of upto 90 feet while the Missile can reach 50 feet. The missile initial velocities vary depending upon how fast you operate the launcher, and with good force you can propel it at speeds exceeding 50fps!

This blaster is a true two-in-one blaster and is immensely fun to play with.

    Nerf Elite: Rhino Fire

    Nerf Elite: Rhino Fire

    • Range: upto 78ft
    • Velocity: upto 70fps
    • Blaster Type: Motorized Flywheel

The rhino fire blaster is a dual fed motorized blaster that can totally shoot 50 bullets continously and fully automatic. It looks and feels like a machine gun that's fed through two 25-round barrels on either side. This gun looks big and dominant and makes for a great sentry weapon. It comes with a removable tripod to set the blaster in a place and unload the two entire mags on the opponent. On the front are two barrels that fire alternately with a sweet recoil that is present only in this blaster of all nerf guns.

Being an elite blaster the performance is solid. The flywheel requires 6 D-sized batteries and adds to the weight of the gun. Even when the tripod is removed, it feels slightly difficult to carry the blaster with one hand and shoot using the other and run around during the game (for small kids).

If you're not playing competitive nerf wars and not trying to hurt opponents, this gun is a immensely fun to play and the kickback action on the front two barrels looks kickass. The only gripe with this blaster would be that its quite pricier than all other nerf elite blasters. Otherwise it would make an excellent addition to your nerf collection.

    Nerf Rival : Zeus MXV-1200

    Nerf Rival : Zeus MXV-1200

    • Range: 50 - 70ft
    • Velocity: up-to 100 fps
    • Blaster Type: Motorized Flywheel

Zues is the more premier nerf gun in the Rival series and the bigger brother of Apollo. Similar to Apollo, this is also marketed only for 14+ years, for young adults and teens. It uses the same foam-balls ammo that assures better accuracy and velocity.

But it differs from Apollo in a lot of significant ways. For one its a bigger rifle sized gun. It has a stock that can be shouldered comfortably, while the Apollo is more of a pistol type gun. Zues is battery operated and requires 6 C-sized batteries which are inserted into a tray that extends form the stock. This provides zues a heavier profile, but the weight is evenly distributed giving the player a more realistic feel. The most important differentiator is that this gun uses motorized flywheel blaster instead of the spring action in Apollo.

Many people do not like the fact that this requires batteries to operate and that it might run of juice in the middle of play. Also the range is not good as expected and in-fact the spring action shows more distance.

But still Zues would make for a great primary weapon, perfect for quick close quarter combat. It comes with a 12-round magazine that makes sure you don't quickly run out of ammo and reduces reloads. Also being semi-automatic, it has great fire rate and you can quickly unload your ammo at your opponent. Highly recommended.

    Nerf Elite: Stryfe

    Nerf Elite: Stryfe

    • Range: upto 75ft
    • Velocity: upto 70fps
    • Blaster Type: Motorized Flywheel

Stryfe is a sidearm sized blaster rolled out in the N-Strike series. It comes in two color schemes, one completely orange and the other in the classic blue-orange nerf theme as other Elite blasters. It's operated by a motorized flywheel making it semi-automatic. It's semi-auto firing in the sense that you could keep the flywheel revving using one finger while each trigger press releases a single dart. Contrary to Rapidfire where you could just press down and hold the trigger to automatically fire multiple darts.

Out of the box, this gun comes with only the blaster, 6-dart magazine and 6 darts. There are no other attachments included. But the blaster itself has Stock and Barrel extension slots along with top and bottom tactical rails. This allows the player to attach any N-strike stock, barrels, scopes and flashlights. All sold separately. Being semiautomatic, this gun can discharge it's 6 dart magazine as fast as your fingers allow. Thus giving a very short playtime before you have to start collecting the darts back. But as always, a 18-clip dart mag can be attached, transforming the strye from a simple pistol blaster to a fully functioning primary weapon.

This gun requires four AA betteries to operate. The range is a good 75 feet but only if you allow enough time for the motors to rev to maximum potential. Shorter trigger times reduce the range. This is a common trait for all motorized blasters. This is also cheaper compared to other Elite Blasters with almost no shortcomings, making it one of the most popular guns amoung both modders and players alike.
