    Platt gemacht

X-rated

    • Films: Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song
In some countries, X or XXX is or has been a motion picture rating reserved for the most explicit films. Films rated X are intended only for viewing by adults, usually legally defined as people over the age of 18. The Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC), a government institution, issues ratings for all movies and television shows sold or aired. Material showing explicit, non-simulated sex that is pornographic in nature is rated X18+. People under 18 may not buy, rent, exhibit or view these films. The exhibition or sale of these films to people under the age of 18 years is a criminal offence carrying a maximum fine of $5,500. Films classified as X18+ are banned from being sold or rented in most Australian states. They are legally available to be sold in the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory. Importing X18+ material from these territories to any of the Australian states is legal, as the constitution forbids any restrictions on trade between the states and territories. The X18+ rating does not exist for video or computer games. Films may be shown in theaters in France only after classification by an administrative commission of the ministry of

    Bittere Trauben

    Parental Advisory

    • Films: Journey to the Center of the Earth
Parental Advisory, abbreviated PAL, is a label affixed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to audio and recordings in the United States containing excessive use of profane language and/or sexual references. The label is prevalent on hip hop and rock albums, though it can appear on any musical genre that the RIAA believes warrants the need for one. The logo is not a rating, and there are no agreed-upon standards for the label. It is the record company's decision whether or not an album requires a label. Some albums, however, have been considered so extreme in their violent content that the distributor of the album has put on a secondary warning next to the Parental Advisory sticker, most notably Geto Boys' self-titled album released in 1990. The warning, which has been called the musical equivalent of an "alcohol content" label, has appeared to make some albums more desirable, resulting in the reverse effect to what was intended. The warning has achieved a degree of cult status, with comedian George Carlin titling an album Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics and numerous t-shirts, metal signs, and other paraphernalia bearing the logo. The RIAA, however, officially

    Schiffe versenken

This Film Is Not Yet Rated

    • Films: Darwin's Revolution in Thought
This Film is Not Yet Rated is a 2006 independent documentary film about the Motion Picture Association of America's rating system and its effect on American culture, directed by Kirby Dick and produced by Eddie Schmidt. It premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and was released limited on September 1, 2006. The Independent Film Channel, the film's producer, aired the film later that year. It was rated TV-MA in the United States. The MPAA gave the original cut of the film an NC-17 rating for "some graphic sexual content" – scenes that illustrated the content a film could include to garner an NC-17 rating. Kirby Dick appealed, and descriptions of the ratings deliberations and appeal were included in the documentary. The new version of the film is not rated. The film discusses disparities the filmmaker sees in ratings and feedback: between Hollywood and independent films, between homosexual and heterosexual sexual situations, between male and female sexual depictions, and between violence and sexual content. Much of the film's press coverage was devoted to Dick and his crew's use of a private investigator, Becky Altringer to unmask the identities of the ratings and appeals board
