The Pennsylvania Convention Center is a multi-use public facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania which is designed to accommodate conventions, exhibitions, conferences and other events.
In the latter part of the 20th century, the minute Philadelphia Civic Center became outmoded. With the opening of the Spectrum in South Philadelphia, fewer big sporting and entertainment events used the Civic Center. Political conventions, too, outgrew the capacity of the Civic Center to host them. By the 1980s, regional and state leaders had begun to plan for a new convention center in the heart of Center City. The Pennsylvania Convention Center opened in 1993 and when it did, most of the Events held in the Civic Center, including trade shows and the annual Philadelphia Flower Show, moved to the new facility.
As a result of the construction of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the Chinatown buildings located on Arch Street, up to the intersection of 13th Street, were demolished.

The convention center was designed by Peter Eisenman, constructed in 1993, and expanded in 1999. Property management company SMG oversees day-to-day operations of the 1,700,000-square-foot (160,000 m) facility, including 426,000 square feet (39,600 m) of exhibit space, two ballrooms, and 61 meeting rooms.
On the morning of January 9, 2008 a major water main break was detected, possibly beneath the building. Officials from the Columbus Division of Fire were concerned that part of the building, including the main hall, might collapse due to structural failure. It was soon determined, however, that the building was not in any danger.
While the Columbus Convention Center is considered an outlandish design to many, the true plan developed by Eisenman was limited by money. Because of this, the original materials and finishes desired were cheapened to fit within the budget of the project. What resulted was a series of interesting geometries with little architectural development.

Named after former Fresno mayor Arthur L. Selland, the Selland Arena is a 24,200 sq ft (2,250 m) multi-purpose arena with a seating capacity of more than 9,000. The facility is home to the Central Valley Coyotes of the af2 and was home to the Fresno State men's basketball program and Fresno Falcons hockey team. The Colorado Convention Center is a multi-purpose convention center located in Downtown Denver. The center opened in June 1990; the first event being the NBA Draft for the Denver Nuggets. The Lake Placid Conference Center is located in Lake Placid, Florida, and is owned and operated by the South Florida District Church of the Nazarene. The Nazarene district purchased the property in October 1996, for the purpose of providing a Christian place for Christian groups, and churches to come together to worship God in a camp type setting.

The Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center, located in Schaumburg, Illinois at I-90 and Meacham Rd, opened its doors in July 2006. The 500-room hotel is run by Marriott under their Renaissance brand. Construction began on the $156 million facility in July 2004 and took two years to complete. The property is owned by the Village of Schaumburg, who chose John Portman & Associates of Atlanta as the architect and Walsh Construction of Chicago as the general contractor. The convention center hosted its first event, the USA Gymnastics Tumbling & Trampoline National Championships, from July 5-14, 2006. The hotel's first guests checked in on July 17, 2006.

Moscone Center /mɒsˈkoʊni/ is the largest convention and exhibition complex in San Francisco, California. It comprises three main halls: Two underground halls underneath Yerba Buena Gardens, known as Moscone North and Moscone South, and a three-level Moscone West exhibition hall across 4th Street. It was initially built in 1981 by architects Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum as one single hall, Moscone South, and named after San Francisco former mayor George Moscone, who was assassinated in November 1978.
Although named after the slain former mayor, Moscone opposed the development of the area when he served on the SF Board of Supervisors in the 1960s because he felt it would displace middle-class residents. As mayor, Moscone convened a special committee of proponents and opponents of a convention center. Hearings were held throughout SF seeking citizen input. A compromise was reached which was supported by Moscone. He put the matter on the ballot and it passed overwhelmingly. The expansion of Moscone North and Moscone West in 1992 and 2003 added an additional 600,000 square feet (56,000 m) to its original 300,000 square feet (28,000 m) of exhibit space.

The Palais des congrès de Montréal is a convention center located in the Quartier international de Montréal at the north end of Old Montreal in Montreal's borough of Ville-Marie.
The Palais was constructed above the Ville-Marie Expressway, the main underground highway of downtown Montreal. It connects to the Montreal Metro at Place-d'Armes station, and to Montreal's underground city.

Staples Center is a multi-purpose sports arena in Downtown Los Angeles. Adjacent to the L.A. Live development, it is located next to the Los Angeles Convention Center complex along Figueroa Street. Opening on October 17, 1999, it is one of the major sporting facilities in the Greater Los Angeles Area.
It is owned and operated by the L.A. Arena Company and Anschutz Entertainment Group. The arena is home to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), and the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Neal Kocurek Memorial Austin Convention Center is a multi-purpose convention center located in Austin, Texas, USA. The building is the home of the Texas Rollergirls, and was also home to the Austin Toros basketball team, until their move to the Cedar Park Center in nearby Cedar Park in 2010.
The Convention Center encloses 881,400 square feet (81,880 m). The five exhibit halls combined have 246,097 square feet (22,863.2 m) of column-free space. There are 54 meeting rooms and two ballrooms, including one of the largest ballrooms in Texas with 43,300 square feet (4,020 m).
The origin of the convention center goes back to 1983, when civic leaders became concerned that Austin was losing money from potential convention business because the city's current convention facility, Palmer Auditorium, was too small. The Austin city council unveiled a concept for a $35 million convention center as part of a $350 million complex of hotels and parkland on the south shore of Town Lake (now Lady Bird Lake). The Sindbad Hotel Complex and Conference Center was designed by architect Hisham N. Ashkouri in 2004 to be the first new high-rise hotel, conference center and movie theater complex in modern Baghdad, as a symbol of the reconstruction of Iraq. This new commercial center was designed to be a place for gathering and recreation, as well as to conduct the business of the emerging Iraqi economy. It would also be an employer of several hundred construction workers, bringing an influx of capital into the local economy, and after construction would employ several hundred more citizens in an ongoing capacity. The Kentucky International Convention Center (KICC), formerly called the Commonwealth Convention Center, is a large multi-use facility in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It, along with the Kentucky Exposition Center, hosts conventions for the Louisville area. It was built on the site of the Tyler Block and opened in 1977.
While the convention center does not have a permanent arena, it still has hosted various sporting events, including the 2002 Ohio Valley Conference Men's Basketball tournament and the NCAA Men's Division II Basketball Championship from 1995 to 2000. All Saints Camp and Conference Center is a property owned by the Dallas Diocese of the Episcopal Church. Based on the vision of Bishop James Monte Stanton, the camp, formerly Lake Texoma Lutheran Camp, was purchased by the Diocese of Dallas and building and renovations began based on the Onward fund raising campaign, with Phase I construction beginning in 2006 . The Oregon Convention Center is a convention center in Portland, Oregon. Opened in 1990, it located on the east side of the Willamette River in the Lloyd District neighborhood. It is best known for the twin spire towers which provide light into the building's interior and for housing the world's largest Foucault Pendulum. The Tucson Convention Center (TCC), previously named the Tucson Community Center, is a large multi-purpose convention center located in downtown Tucson, Arizona. Built in 1971, the location includes a 9,275-seat indoor arena, two performing arts venues, and 205,000 square feet (19,000 m) of meeting space.
In 2009, ground was broken on a major renovation to construct a new convention center hotel and substantially expand the exhibition space.
Architectural firm DLR Group designed the new Tucson Hotel and Convention Center. The project is under construction. The main tower is a 400 foot, 27-story Sheraton hotel featuring 525 guest rooms. Features include an open courtyard, outdoor pool, bar and lobby lounge, fitness center, café, rooftop pool deck, business center, and 50,000 square feet (4,600 m) of meeting space including a 19,000-square-foot (1,800 m) ballroom.

The Maxwell Convention Center or Tulsa Convention Center is a 8,900-seat multi-purpose arena in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The civic arena was constructed in 1964 and named for Tulsa Mayor James L. Maxwell who was the driving force behind the planning and start of the venue. It was home to the Central Hockey League Tulsa Oilers ice hockey team and to the Tulsa Talons, an af2 arena football team prior to the opening of the new BOK Center in 2008. It hosted the Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball tournament title game in 1982 and 1984-87. It was also the home to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane basketball team until the program moved to the Reynolds Center in 1998.

Gardner Steel Conference Center (GSCC) is an academic building of the University of Pittsburgh and a contributing property to the Schenley Farms National Historic District and a Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmark.
An Early Modern structure built from 1911-1912 by architects Kiehnel and Elliott, it originally served as the Central Turnverein, a German-American social and athletic association, and later known as the Central Athletic Association. It served as the site of various athletic contests, including some involving the University of Pittsburgh. During World War I, it was used to house those in the Student Army Training Corps. Following the war, a severe space shortage at the Dental School prompted the university to purchase the building in 1920 for use as a dental clinic and infirmary. Known then as the Infirmary Building, a 2,500-square-foot (230 m) annex was erected in 1922 creating enough space in the building to hold 200 dental chairs.

Jacob K. Javits Convention Center is a large convention center located on Eleventh Avenue, between 34th and 40th streets, on the West side of Manhattan in New York, United States. It was designed by architect James Ingo Freed of I. M. Pei and partners. The revolutionary space frame structure was begun in 1980 and finished in 1986 and named for United States Senator Jacob K. Javits, who died that year. The Center is operated and maintained by the New York City Convention Center Operating Corporation.
The exhibit space is over 675,000 square feet (62,700 m). Planning and constructing a convention center on Manhattan's west side has had a long and controversial history, including efforts starting in the early 1970s to produce a West Side development megaproject.
When the Center opened, it replaced the New York Coliseum as the city's major convention facility, making way for the demolition of the Coliseum and future construction of the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle.

The 5th and Mission Garage is just 3 blocks away and there are 2 other garages within 2 blocks of THE BOX SF. We are between 6th and 7th Street on Howard Street at the corner of Moss Street. We can do most any kind of event, from weddings, baby showers, parties, retreats, board meetings, holiday parties, meetings and executive conference facilities to media events, fashion shows and both trade and public food and wine events or private dinners. We try to be as environmentally aware as possible. We use corn and sugarcane plates and eating utensils or washable china, glass and silver. We attempt to recycle, reuse and compost as much as possible and discourage the use of un-environmental disposables.
We charge most typically 1500$ days for both rooms, and 2400$ nights for both rooms, plus 400$ if you do not use our preferred caterers but we prefer you to use ours and we must approve any outside vendor and they must follow our rules. We have some flexibility to co-produce events as well and that can lower the fees somewhat or if it is for a non-profit we can also sometimes give a preferred or multi-day rate rate as well depending on details, bar etc. As for bar, you must use our bar as we do not allow outside bar vendors. The rooms do not get split you get the entire space because we cannot hold separate events in the two spaces at the same time. We do not require minimums like bars, clubs and restaurants do. Shorter events may sometimes be billed at 300$ per hour, likewise if your event goes over 8 hours there may be an additional charge! Typically we assume an event is an 8 hour block of time to allow for set-up, event and wrap and clean-up. We are always happy to discuss the details before quoting a final rental price!! Some events also require security at the door, and all events require standard event insurance.
Our absolute maximum capacity for a standing event is 200. We can seat between 45 and 90 in our large room, up to 144 classroom style for seminars, and our small room with the large 325 year old village gate doors as our table seats 32 at the single table, 52 total seated, and the room holds about 60-70 for a standing reception.
Our caterers can do everything from a breakfast or lunch meeting to a elegant banquet and multi-course dinner, to heavy passed appetizers, we can easily do all types of foods, cupcakes, chocolates or any type of food. And we can do virtually any type of event. Our caterers have served as many as 185 people here in the space and we have done many multi-course sit down dinners paired with wines. Our in-house caterer Charisse Mitchell of http://www.MisoFull.com 415-200-0355, has a commercial kitchen directly across the street.
We do offer a full bar at all events and we handle all bar operations here! Typical bar packages can range between service only, up to full bar packages from 17$ per head for a moderate bar, 19$ per head premium bar, 21$ for a deluxe bar and 26$ per head for a top shelf bar. That includes all glass, napkins, supplies, alcohol bartenders, ice and clean up etc. for a 4 to 5 hour service window on any event. You do not have to do a bar and we can run a cash bar or hosted bar, but we do not require minimums except for staffing and supplies. We can of course quote an exact price and work with you to make anything happen, our goal is to make your event special and easy!
We are a third floor space and as such are not ADA accessible but we do have a freight elevator. We can also bring in any type of music, DJ, audio visual presentation or stage is needed. Our smaller front room has a pull down screen for projection. We have some furniture to rent that we provide cheaper than rental companies to help our guests out such as chairs and kiosk cocktail tables. We additionally have high speed wireless in the space to be used as needed at no charge.
We are two blocks from Civic Center BART, and 2 blocks Wet of Moscone Center with plenty of street parking and there are many garages and surface parking within a block of here. We can also hire valet parking if needed for an additional cost. We have a negotiated preferred rate for any out of town guests at 3 beautiful hotels less than a block away.

The Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) is a 3-story structure built by the Cebu Provincial Government for the 12th Asean Summit and 2nd East Asia Summit at a cost of about US$ ten million dollars. It has a gross floor area of 28,000 square metres and is situated on 3.8 hectares of land at the Mandaue City Reclamation Area in Metro Cebu.
The site where the convention centre now stands was originally intended for a sports complex dubbed as the "Cebu Mega Dome". A contest was held for its design and the winning entry was the "spinning disc" by Architect Alexus Medalla. The project however was stalled after some members of the provincial board opposed it.
In late 2005, Philippines President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo decided that the province would host the 12th ASEAN Summit and 2nd East Asia Summit in December 2006, which was later on moved to January 12–15, 2007 due to Typhoon Utor. The Philippines was supposed to host the twin summits on December 2007 yet but Myanmar, the original host for 2006, backed out. The Omni Dallas Hotel is a 23-story, 1001-room hotel at the Convention Center District in Dallas, Texas. Groundbreaking occurred on September 15, 2009. The building was topped out on October 21, 2010. The $500 million hotel is owned by the City of Dallas and is attached directly to the Dallas Convention Center. The hotel formally opened on November 11, 2011.
The hotel features several restaurants and bars. It also has a gift shop, Morsels and Collections, with local items such as Villy Custom luxury fashion bicycles.

The Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center, more commonly known as the Salt Palace is a convention center in Salt Lake City, Utah and is named after Utah's 11th Governor, Calvin L. Rampton. The name "Salt Palace" has been the name of two other buildings in that city.
The historic Salt Palace was built in 1899 under the direction of Richard K.A. Kletting, architect, and owned by John Franklin Heath. It stood on 900 South, between State Street and Main Street in Salt Lake City. The original Salt Palace contained a dance hall, theatre, and racing track. It was destroyed by fire on August 29, 1910, and was replaced by Majestic Hall.
The new Salt Palace was an indoor arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was built on land that was once the "Little Tokyo" area of the city. Mar-Lu-Ridge Summer Camp and Education and Conference Center is an outdoor ministry site of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America located in Jefferson, Maryland. Mar-Lu-Ridge, an abbreviation for either Martin Luther or Maryland Lutheran, sits atop a mountain in the Catoctin Mountain range. The camp is a year round ministry location that was founded at a groundbreaking ceremony on December, 31 1958. The first year of summer camp was 1959, and camp continues to the present. This American Camping Association-accredited camp serves both the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Synod and the Delaware-Maryland Synod, as well people of all faiths and denominations. Opened in January 2011, the Irving Convention Center is a 275,000 sq ft (25,500 m) facility located on a 40 acres (16 ha) tract in Las Colinas Urban Center in Irving, Texas. The convention center and the adjoining mixed use entertainment district are bordered on the west by Highway 114, on the east by Las Colinas Boulevard, on the north by Spur 348/Northwest Highway, and to the south by Fuller Drive. The facility is designed to serve exhibition, conventions, and meetings and a variety of other events with the focus being primarily on groups of 800 to 1,200 people with a capacity of 4,000 for a general session. The building consists of several levels with an adjacent parking garage. The first floor contains the 50,000 sq ft (4,600 m) column-free exhibition hall that spans approximately two and half stories in height and includes the main lobby. The second level contains 20 breakout rooms totaling 20,000 sq ft (1,900 m) as well as the atrium café which extends to an outdoor, shaded terrace. The Kaiser Convention Center is a historic, publicly owned multi-purpose arena in Oakland, California. The facility includes a 5,492-seat arena, a large theater, and a large ballroom. The building is #27 on the list of Oakland Historic Landmarks.
The Beaux-Arts style landmark was built in 1914; the architect was John J. Donovan. Originally known as the Oakland Auditorium, it was renamed in honor of Henry J. Kaiser after a 1984 renovation.
The city closed the facility in 2006 and its future is uncertain. In 2006, Oakland voters defeated a ballot proposition advocating a library space in the building.
The facility was owned by the City of Oakland until 2011, when it was sold to the local redevelopment agency for $28 million. However, the redevelopment agency was dissolved by the State of California in 2012, so ownership will revert to the city of Oakland.

The King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center (KHBTCC) is a convention center and meeting venue in Jordan, named for Hussein I, King of Jordan from 1952 to 1999. The KHBTCC is on the east coast of the Dead Sea approximately 40 kilometres (25 mi) southwest from Amman, Jordan. The center opened in 2004, with a total area of 24,000 m (260,000 sq ft), which includes 25 conference and meeting halls across three floors. The KHBTCC can accommodate approximately 4,000 people. The Ang Dating Daan Convention Center (Tagalog alternate name: Pasalamatán ) is a semi-large open-type convention center built in the Philippines. Owned directly by the Members Church of God International and supervised by Daniel Razon, the convention center was constructed in the 1990s to house the gatherings of the congregation. The entire compound encompasses the main Convention Center, a dorm, two offices and houses for the Ministers of the said church group. It expanded in 2004, adding more parking spaces and more area for the church members.

The building is located across the street from the Brazos River, which runs through the center of Waco, and bordered by Indian Spring Park and the historic 1870 Waco Suspension Bridge. The Merom Conference Center began as Union Christian College in 1859 and is now used as a camp and conference center for the Indiana-Kentucky Conference of the United Church of Christ (UCC). It is located in Merom, Indiana on the Wabash River.

The Indiana Convention Center is a convention center located in Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. It contains over 400,000 square feet (40,000 m) of open exhibit space and almost 140,000 square feet (13,000 m) of group meeting space. It was finished in late 1983 along with the Hoosier Dome (later named the RCA Dome), which it was connected to prior the Dome's deconstruction in 2008. The combined cost was around $82 million. Sports Authority Field at Mile High, previously known as Invesco Field at Mile High, and commonly known as Mile High, is a multi-purpose stadium, in Denver, Colorado. It replaced the identically sized, but commercially obsolete Mile High Stadium (named for the fact that Denver is exactly one mile above sea level) in 2001. It is best known as the home of the Denver Broncos of the National Football League. Invesco paid $120 million for the original naming rights, before Sports Authority claimed the naming rights on August 16, 2011.
Many fans opposed a corporate name and wished to retain the previous venue's name, "Mile High Stadium." The Denver Post initially refused to use the Invesco label and referred to it as Mile High for several years before changing their policy and adding Invesco to articles.

The Tampa Convention Center is a mid-sized convention center located in downtown Tampa, Florida at the mouth of the Hillsborough River. It has both waterfront views of Tampa Bay and views of the city's skyline. Harbour Island is across the eponymous bridge on the other side of the Garrison Channel. The center is connected to the neighboring Channelside District and Ybor City via the TECO Streetcar Line, which has a station across the street. The center encompasses 600,000 square feet (56,000 m) in total.
The Convention Center is built on the historical site of Ft. Brooke, the original American outpost on Tampa Bay established in 1824. The community of Tampa slowly grew around the outpost, which was active until 1883, when it was decommissioned by the United States Army and the land was sold for private use.
The location was used for various commercial and industrial purposes until the late 1980s, when it was cleared to make way for a new convention center to replace Tampa's aging Curtis Hixon Hall. Falls Creek Baptist Conference Center, also known simply as "Falls Creek", is a conference center and youth camp along Falls Creek in the Arbuckle Mountains of Oklahoma. It is the state's oldest church camp and is also the largest youth encampment in the United States. While the center primarily serves members of the Baptist faith, attendees from other denominations use the facility as well. The current director of the encampment is James Swain.
Falls Creek was established in the summer of 1917, when J. B. Rounds and W. D. Moorer used the donated land to host the meeting of the Baptist Young People's Union, with a total of 273 campers. Since then, Falls Creek has grown astronomically, now averaging 55,000 attendees per summer. In the 1920s, a large outdoor tabernacle was built and remained in use for many years. It is owned by Gaylord Hotels, a division of Ryman Hospitality Properties (formerly known as Gaylord Entertainment Company), and operated by Marriott International. The hotel, located in the Oxon Hill community in Prince George's County, Maryland, opened April 1, 2008, serving as the anchor of a new mixed-use (office, residential, and retail) development in National Harbor. It is the largest non-gaming hotel and convention center on the East Coast of the United States. It cost $870 million to build.

Irving Convention Center Station is a DART light rail station located in the Las Colinas development of Irving, Texas for service on the Orange Line. The station opened in July 2012 and will serve the Irving Convention Center and Las Colinas Urban Center. This station will temporarily serve as the Orange Line terminus until expansion in December 2012.
There is no direct bus connection at the station. However, DART provides a nearby bus route (503) on Las Colinas Blvd. on a weekday basis. Parking is provided, but at an existing parking lot at the former North Irving Transit Center facility. Access to the station platform is available via a walkway and pedestrian crossing under Northwest Highway.

The Quartz Mountain Resort Arts and Conference Center is a resort located 17 miles north of Altus in the Wichita Mountains of southwestern Oklahoma near the Texas border in the town of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma.
Two-hundred-and-fifty students are selected for the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute annually and spend two weeks at Quartz Mountain living in cabins and lodges focusing on their area of discipline. Auditions take place at the beginning of the year; accepted students receive letters dictating their selection in mid-April.

The Walt Disney World Conference Center was a chalet-style building that was designed for small and medium-sized business meetings. It opened in August 1980 along the banks of Club Lake and was then converted into part of the Disney Institute. It was later demolished when construction began on the Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, which now stands on the grounds of the former Institute.
The conference center had four rooms which could be broken down into several configurations. The largest breakout room, at 6,500 square feet (600 m), could seat 505 guests with theater-style seating. Each meeting room faced the lake and had automatic lighting that would turn on when external light conditions required them. Meeting planners could have themed entertainment with the Disney characters as well as the ability to arrange for a round of golf or a tennis match. The conference center could not handle large conventions and the large groups were forced to use newly created meeting spaces at the Walt Disney World Dolphin, Walt Disney World Swan, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa hotels, which resulted in the closure of the conference center.

It was expanded in 2002 and now features 80,000 square feet (7,000 m) of columnless exhibit space (divided into three halls) with seating for up to 8,000 people. The convention center also has three lobbies totalling 38,300 square feet (3,560 m), including a 23,000-square-foot (2,100 m) main lobby, plus 14,900 square feet (1,380 m) of meeting space. Williams Convention Center's ceiling height is 28 feet (9 m); the center has excellent acoustics for many conventions and concerts held at the Center. Trade shows and other special events also held at Williams Convention Center. The convention center is also home to the Sun Bowl Fan Fiesta.
The World Forum Convention Center, formerly known as the Nederlands Congrescentrum (NCC), is a concert venue and convention centre in The Hague, Netherlands, near the buildings of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) is the largest exhibition center in the Northeast United States, with some 516,000 square feet (about 4.8 hectares) of contiguous exhibition space. It is located on Summer Street near the South Boston waterfront, Boston's World Trade Center, and across the harbor from Logan International Airport. The main exhibition floor comprises three bays which can be isolated for separate shows or linked into one large space.
The center is about one block south of the World Trade Center station on the MBTA Silver Line, with direct connections to South Station and Logan airport.
For short time in 1997 the owner of the National Football League's New England Patriots, Robert Kraft and Massport, also tried unsuccessfully to turn the same parcel of land that the convention center is on into a new home stadium for the football team that would have been closer to Boston, but both were unable to get the surrounding neighborhoods to agree with the deal because of concerns about traffic.

The Doha Convention Center Tower is a 400 m (1,300 ft) tall skyscraper under construction in Doha, Qatar. Construction is currently suspended, but "is expected to restart in 2011". Estimated completion is in 2012.
The building, shaped like a tapering obelisk, will house offices on the lower levels, apartments, a hotel and penthouse residences on the upper floors. At the very top, a private club will occupy a 60 m (200 ft) high glass cylinder surrounded by extensions of tower's facade and supported by a structural helix.
The George R. Brown Convention Center, opened on September 26, 1987, is located on the east side of Downtown Houston, Texas, United States.
The center was named for the prominent Houstonian George R. Brown, an entrepreneur, civic leader, and philanthropist. Brown’s Texas Eastern Corporation donated six of the 11 blocks required to build the convention center. The center is owned by the City of Houston and managed by the Houston First Corporation. The facility was completed with a price tag of $104.9 million, requiring 30 months and more than 1,200 workers. The 100-foot (30 m) high red-white-and-blue building replaced the obsolete Albert Thomas Convention Center, which was later redeveloped into the Bayou Place entertainment complex in the downtown Houston Theater District.

The International Convention Centre (Hebrew: מרכז הקונגרסים הבינלאומי, Merkaz HaKongresim HaBeinLeumi), commonly known as Binyenei HaUma (Hebrew: בנייני האומה, lit. Buildings of the nation), is a concert hall and conventional center in Giv'at Ram in Jerusalem, Israel. It is the largest convention center in the Middle East.
Binyenei Ha'uma was first envisioned by Alexander Ezer (who later became its managing director) and planned by architect Ze'ev Rechter who won the design competition in 1949. The complex was under construction from 1950 to 1963, though it began operations in 1956 with a meeting of the World Zionist Organization. The period of economic difficulty and austerity in the first decade of Israeli independence meant frequent disruption in construction due to lack of funds, and the project was sometimes disparagingly known as Chirbet HaUma, the National Ruin. Rechter's design was a solid structure faced in Jerusalem stone. Instead of a monumental relief by artists Joseph Zaritsky and Yitzhak Danziger as originally planned, the facade was covered with azure-coloured glass panels.

International Convention Center Jeju (ICC Jeju) opened in 2003 on Jeju Island, South Korea, in the Jungmun Resort near the city of Seogwipo. It began under private-public consortium ownership and is becoming fully publicly owned. It consists of a larger oval-shaped glass structure and a smaller round glass annex, and surrounding facilities. The largest hall accommodates 4,300 people, with various smaller halls and meeting rooms.
The building consists of a large elliptical fully glass-wall structure four floors above ground (and two below) connected to a smaller circular glass building housing restaurant and coffee shop, and is set on a cliff over the Pacific Ocean. The building houses the Jeju Convention Bureau.

The Mandalay Bay Convention Center, located in Paradise, Nevada is one of the largest privately owned and operated convention centers in the world. The 1,000,000 sq ft (93,000 m) facility is owned by MGM Mirage. It is attached to the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and adjacent to the Mandalay Bay Events Center. The San Diego Convention Center is the primary convention center in San Diego, California. It is located in the Marina district of downtown San Diego near the Gaslamp Quarter, at 111 West Harbor Drive. The center is managed by the San Diego Convention Center Corporation, a non-profit public benefit corporation.
The convention center offers 615,701 square feet (57,200 square meters) of exhibit space. As of 2009 it was the 24th largest convention facility in North America. It was designed by Canadian architect Arthur Erickson. Capacity for the facility is 125,000.
The center's most distinguishing feature is the Sails Pavilion, a 90,000-square-foot (8,400 m) exhibit and special event area. The David L. Lawrence Convention Center (DLLCC) is a 1,500,000-square-foot (140,000 m) convention, conference and exhibition building in downtown Pittsburgh in the U.S. commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is served by two exits on Interstate 579. The initial David L. Lawrence Convention Center was completed on the site on February 7, 1981, but as part as a renewal plan the new completely redesigned center was opened in 2003 and funded in conjunction with nearby Heinz Field and PNC Park. The Conference Center, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, is the premier meeting hall for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Substantially completed in spring 2000 in time for the church's April 2000 general conference, the 21,000-seat Conference Center replaced the traditional use of the nearby Salt Lake Tabernacle, built in 1868, for semiannual LDS Church general conferences and major church gatherings, devotionals, and other events. It is believed to be the largest theater-style auditorium ever built.
The 1.4 million square foot (130,000 m) Conference Center seats 21,200 people in its main auditorium. This includes the rostrum behind the pulpit facing the audience, which provides seating at general conference for 158 general authorities and general officers of the church and the 360-voice Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The Palm Springs Convention Center is a 245,000 sq ft (22,800 m) facility located in downtown Palm Springs, California. Architect William Pereira designed the original building in 1974. In 2005 the Convention Center completed a massive expansion, adding over 100,000 sq ft (9,300 m). It can accommodate groups from 12 to 12,000 people. Reliant Astrodome, also known as the Houston Astrodome or simply the Astrodome, is the world's first multi-purpose, domed sports stadium, located in Houston, Texas, USA. The stadium is part of the Reliant Park complex. It opened in 1965 as Harris County Domed Stadium and was nicknamed the "Eighth Wonder of the World".
Major League Baseball expanded to Houston in 1960 when the National League agreed to add two teams. The Colt .45s (renamed the Houston Astros in 1965) were to begin play in 1962, along with their expansion brethren New York Mets. Roy Hofheinz, a former mayor of Houston, and his group were granted the franchise after they promised to build a covered stadium. It was thought a covered stadium was a must for a major-league team to be viable in Houston due to the area's subtropical climate and hot summers. Game-time temperatures are usually above 97 degrees in July and August, with high humidity, and a likelihood of rain. Hofheinz claimed inspiration for what became the Astrodome when he was on a tour of Rome, where he learned that the builders of the ancient Colosseum installed giant velaria to shield spectators from the Roman sun.

Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC), is a multi-purpose arena and convention center complex located in Duluth, Minnesota. It has been home to the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldog hockey team since 1966. The DECC is located on the waterfront near Duluth's famous Aerial Lift Bridge.
The DECC Arena, originally called the Duluth Arena Auditorium, was built at a cost of $6.5 million, the arena portion of the complex houses a 190-by-85 foot hockey rink with 5,333 seats, and six locker rooms, including the recently-remodeled $2 million locker room facility now used by the men and women Bulldog hockey teams.
The rink can be converted to allow the DECC Arena to host concerts, dinners, conventions,and shows. The DECC was the site of the NCAA I men's hockey championships in both 1968 and 1981, hosted the 2003 and 2008 Women's NCAA Division I Frozen Four. A spacious lobby, where ticket sales originate, separates the Arena from Symphony Hall. Symphony Hall seats 2,400 and plays host to concerts, symphonies, plays, operas, high school and college graduations, and a variety of other activities.

The Wildwoods Convention Center is a convention center and indoor arena in Wildwood, New Jersey. Built in 2001 to replace an older Convention Hall, the center has exhibition space of 260,000 sq ft (24,000 m). The building includes the Oceanfront Arena, an indoor arena that can seat up to 7,000 spectators. It is owned by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and managed by SMG.
In 1972, Wildwood Convention Hall, a 18,000 sq ft (2,000 m) building, opened with several stores in front. Located on the Boardwalk at 4522 Ocean Avenue, it was used until the need for a larger convention center and arena were made in 1999. NJSEA promptly joined in, and broke ground in 2000, tearing a 40 feet (12 m) hole in the boardwalk in the process, opening the new building in 2001, and the following year, razed the old hall, creating the new dramatic entrance way for the facility.

The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. The lower end of building one is located 1,640 feet (500 m) upriver from Canal Street on the banks of the Mississippi River. It is named after former Mayor of New Orleans Ernest N. Morial. As of 2006, it has about 1.1 million square feet (102,000 m²) of exhibit space, covering almost 11 blocks, and over 3 million square feet (280,000 m²) of total space. The front of the main building is 1 kilometer long.
The center was planned starting in 1978. It is the 5th-largest facility of its kind in the United States, and as of early 2005 was the second-busiest. The Raleigh Convention Center is a convention and exhibition facility in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina that opened in September 2008. The lead architect was Obrien/Atkins Associates.
Located at 500 South Salisbury Street, the three-level 500,000-square-foot (46,000 m) building contains an 150,000-square-foot (14,000 m) exhibit hall, twenty meeting rooms and a 32,000-square-foot (3,000 m) ballroom.
The ballroom on the highest level can seat up to 2,715 persons (banquet-style) or 3,630 persons (theater-style). The exhibit hall on the lowest level can hold up to 790 booths or seat up to 6,800 persons (banquet-style) or 9,600 persons (theater-style). Extensive acoustics work was performed to not only provide sound isolation between adjacent activities within the center, but also to control noise output to the surrounding community.

The Xcel Energy Center is a multi-purpose arena located in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It is named for its locally based corporate sponsor Xcel Energy. With an official capacity of 18,064, the arena has four spectator levels: one suite level and three general seating levels.
The arena is owned by the city of Saint Paul and operated by Minnesota Sports & Entertainment. Home to the National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild and the National Lacrosse League's Minnesota Swarm, it is on the same block as the RiverCentre convention facility, Roy Wilkins Auditorium, and Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in downtown St. Paul. It also served as official home to the 2008 Republican National Convention.

Other venues include the Ghana Trade Fair and the National Theatre, but the Conference Centre is more popular due to it being significantly larger than the National Theatre, and at the same time smaller than the Ghana Trade Fair Centre (which was built to host pan-African events).

Edith Macy Conference Center is a conference and training facility owned by the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) and is located in Briarcliff Manor, New York. The site has had four names: Camp Edith Macy (C.E.M.) - University In The Woods, Edith Macy Training School, Edith Macy Girl Scout National Center and since 1982, Edith Macy Conference Center. However, it is often simply referred to as Macy. The John J. Creedon Education Center and Camp Andree Clark are part of the complex. In 1926, Macy hosted the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Fourth International Conference.
Edith Macy was the chair of the Girl Scout National Board of Directors from 1919 to 1925 and dreamed of a permanent Girl Scout training center. In 1925, V. Everit Macy donated land to be used as a national training school in memory of his wife. Camp Edith Macy opened in May 1926.
The Fourth International Conference was held at Camp Edith Macy in 1926. World Thinking Day was created at this conference.
Work on the conference center started in 1980 and it was opened in 1982. Facilities include a 200-seat amphitheatre. It is open to all organizations.

Founded by Don Kojis and Dr. Jerry Tisi, the camp is located in the Cleveland National Forest and in the Cuyamaca Mountains and is approximately five miles south of Julian. It is served by Harrison Park Road, which can be accessed by State Route 79.

Its name comes from a naming rights deal with local telecommunications giant Cox Communications. The complex was formerly known as the Myriad Convention Center.
It was the centerpiece of Oklahoma City's first major urban renewal project, the Pei Plan. In addition to the Convention Center, the project included the removal of blighted sections of the southern downtown area. The Fort Worth Convention Center (formerly known as the Tarrant County Convention Center), is a convention center and indoor arena in Fort Worth, Texas. It includes an 11,200-seat multi-purpose arena.
During the mid-1990s, the building was home to the Fort Worth Fire and Fort Worth Brahmas ice hockey teams, as well as the Arena Football League's Fort Worth Cavalry. The Nagaragawa Convention Center (長良川国際会議場, Nagaragawa Kokusai Kaigijō) is a multi-purpose convention center in the city of Gifu, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The name literally translates to Nagara River International Convention Center, but the official English translation drops "international."
Along with the Gifu Memorial Center, the Nagaragawa Sports Plaza and Mirai Hall, it is part of the World Event and Convention Complex Gifu.
The convention center was built to promote Gifu as a good location for large conventions and has many enticements to attract both domestic and international groups to hold events in the city. The famed architect Tadao Ando designed the structure, giving it a unique, egg-shaped look from the outside, making it immediately recognizable.
It opened on September 1, 1995, and is managed by the city's Public Hall Management Group.
The main hall of the convention center is the largest in all of Gifu Prefecture. It is mainly used for concerts and as a central location for conventions. The Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center is a convention center in downtown Anchorage, Alaska. The $111 million, 200,000-square-foot (19,000 m) facility opened in September 2008, early and within budget. The Dena’ina Center increases Anchorage’s civic and convention capacity by 300 percent, and offers visitors an opportunity to learn about the Dena'ina people who have lived in the Cook Inlet Region since just after the last Ice Age. The meeting rooms and other areas of the Dena’ina Center have Athabascan names, colors throughout the building reflect the colors of the area’s changing season and the artwork within the building tells the story of the Dena’ina people—today and in the past.

The John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center located in Boston was built in 1988 from a design by architects Kallmann, McKinnell & Wood. It replaced a previous building, also a convention center, regarded as "ungainly." The 1988 design "attempted to relate in scale and materials to its Back Bay setting, adopting granite and setbacks... The severe gray interior is reminiscent of an early 20th-century German railroad station." The Center is named after former Boston mayor John Hynes.

The International Amphitheatre was an indoor arena, located in Chicago, Illinois, United States, between 1934 and 1999. It was located on the west side of Halsted Street, at 42nd Street, on the city's south side, adjacent to the Union Stock Yards.

It was home to the Continental Basketball Association's Rio Grande Valley Silverados, who played only one season in 2007 before leaving to become the Southeast Texas Mavericks. The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) is the primary public convention center for the Central Florida region. The center currently ranks as the second largest convention center in the United States (the first is McCormick Place in Chicago). The San Jose Convention Center is the main convention center for the city of San Jose, California. It is located in close proximity to several others of San Jose's convention and cultural structures. Its formal name is the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, in recognition of former mayor Tom McEnery.
The convention center offers 143,000 square feet (13,300 m) of exhibit space. 31 meeting rooms are also offered, as are banquet facilities for some 5,000 persons.
